Rustic but exceptionally comfortable camp

Maasai Simba Camp is a historical site formerly used by Maasai warriors for training. It has been restored and made accessible for adventure travelers seeking to have authentic cultural experience with the Maasai.

Maasai Simba Camp is built by hand, authentich with a rustic charm unlike any other safari camp and lodge in Kenya. The village atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food, and comfortable rooms have inspired many heartwarming comments from guests such as "we felt as if we were members of the village" and "This has been the highlight of our experience in Africa."

Guests Cabins

The camp consists of 10 rock cabins (see right column for example). The cabins are equipped with moderate amenities such as beds, mosquito nets, lighting (powered with solar panels) flush toilets, and hot water. Each cabin is spacious and enjoys total privacy.The entire camp is nestled under a canopy of indigenous acacia trees that provide a cool haven from the African sun.

All of our cabins are designated as smoke free areas.

Environmentally Friendly

Our main source of energy is solar. However for times of additional need, we do have a diesel generator as back up support. To conserve energy, we ask that guests turn off lights in their cabins when not in use. Cabins are not equipped with electrical outlets, and there is no television, radio or telephone. We do have a central charging station for your laptop, camera, i-pod, etc. Also there is a cell phone on site should you need to communicate with your friends and relatives back home.

Relax

From your cabin, you are just a short stroll from Oloip house, the gathering room and family style dining room. Play games, read a book, interact with your guides, or just relax and watch hundreds species of birds as they hop from tree to the next. Let the savannah serenity quiet your mind and allow yourself to escape into this peaceful retreat.

Simba Restaurant

We serve hearty, healthy, and downright delicious foods prepared by our own chef! Simba restaurant offers African, Asian, European, and American cuisine to suit all tastes. Our meals are fresh and organic. Vegetarians are accomodated respectifully. We also accommodate clients with allergies to specific food items such as gluten.

*Beer and wine are also available for purchase with your meal.

Tea & Coffee is ready by: 6:00am - 7:30am

Breakfast after nature walk: 9 am

Lunch Time: 12:30pm

Dinner Time: 7pm

Security

Security is our number one priority. There will be Maasai warriors on site 24 hours a day. All the animals of the African savanna know and are scared of the warriors. Warriors will accompany you during all nature walks and on Safari. This would be the safest place you can be in Africa.
