Unwind and refresh in the secluded riverside bush camp tucked away in the deep acacia forest with a wilderness charm and character. Maasai Simba Camp is uniquely charming from any other safari camp in Kenya.The camp has been designed to give guests the feel that it is part of the Maasai tribal village. The village atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food, and comfortable rooms have inspired many heartwarming comments from guests such as "we felt as if we were members of the Maasai family" and "This has been the highlight of our experience in Africa."

We have three types of accommodations; 6 charming guest rooms, 4 rock cabins, and 5 Hemingway style Safari tents.

Lovely Hemingway Style Safari Tents

Each tent has its own private veranda. Hemingway Safari tent has an open-air bathroom which allows you to take a shower under the sun or the stars! Each tent is beautifully furnished, it's simple and charming at the same time. Safari Themed Experience! You are welcome to bring your favorite pillow, teddy bear or anything else that helps you sleep deep at night!

Rangers Tent, 1 Bath, Sleeps 3

The rangers family tent sits on stilts near the banks of the Kiboko River. Featuring a river view, a covered porch, a hammock, and a welcoming interior. The front porch features classic safari chairs for enjoying your morning coffee among the trees and scenery. It’s the perfect place to plan your ultimate retreat.

Explorer Family Tent, 1 Bath, Sleeps 3

Surround yourself with acacia forest and classic woodland charm at this family friendly large Explorer tent with a private en suite bathroom, a shaded porch, an outdoor fireplace, a hammock, and a beautiful riverside location. The tent has a three-person table in the front porch for more private siting or to play fun games.

Warden Tent, 1 Bath, Sleeps 2

The Warden Tent is among our popular rooms with a large veranda and river view. This lovely unit has a queen size bed, mosquito net, en-suite bathroom with free toiletries. The Warden tent is ideal for a couple wanting to have a private and memorable time in the wildeness. Upon request a private candlelight dinner and wine can be served right outside its sandy porch. Enjoy a night lit cozy fire a few steps up behind the tents and watch the stars on clear nights. Or read a book on the front porch while rocking away your worries. It’s a great life you’ll love it.

Buffalo Room in the Warriors' House

Buffalo room facing a garden view has a queen size bed and sleeps two. The room has a private bathroom, free toiletries, mosquito net, and a ceiling fan.

Leopard Room in the Warriors' House

Leopard room in the Warriors’ house is ideal for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children). The family room features a queen-size bed, a bunk bed, ceiling fan, and mosquito nets. The room is self-contained with en suite bathroom and free toiletries.

Elephant Bedroom in the Warriors' House

Elephant bedroom in the warriors’ house has a king size bed, ceiling fan, private bathroom, and free toiletries.

These newly custom-built charming rooms are made with Adobe bricks and furnished with lovingly crafted woodwork mostly from reclaimed timber.

Each charming guest room is beautifully furnished with all the usual amenities you’d need. The rooms are simple but very comfortable. Outside, the rooms features a beautiful porch under the canopy of indigenous acacia trees. Guest can sit back and enjoy entertainment from hundreds of birds and velvet monkeys that lives here all year around. Also, the warriors' house has a beautiful covered gazebo, a perfect place to unwind after a long day of outdoor activities in the bush or after returning from a long day safari in Amboseli National Park.

Cozy Rock Cabins

We offer 4 one-bedroom rock cabins which are like your own private beach cabin. The cabins offer a secluded ambiance for some deep relaxation. The cabins are made of basalt rocks, with floors made of mazera stones, and artistically thatched roof. Each cabin comes with a private bathroom with hot water and free toiletries.

These recently refurbished rustic yet charming rock cabins are nestled deep in the old growth acacia forest on the banks of a seasonal Kiboko river. The cabins might be rustic in design, but they are exceptionally clean and comfortable. They have all that you need to have unforgettable experience in the bush.

The Chief's Cabin

The Chief's cabin is the only self-catering cabin in the camp. The Chief cabin features a full kitchen where guests will find everything they need to prepare meals for themselves throughout their stay. The Chief Cabin features a modern kitchen with a sink, a mini fridge, a cooking stove, pans, pots and kettle, mugs, plates, cups, cutlery, hand towels, dish soap, salt, paper, etc. The kitchen has awesome views of Mother Nature and a secluded setting next to a seasonal river. Riverside Cabin with patio

Find peace and tranquility in this beautiful riverside cabin. This romantic cabin sits on the banks of the Kiboko River and is ideal for honey mooners. The cabin has a queen-size bed, mosquito net, and its own private en-suite bathroom and toiletries. Freshly laundered linens and towels are provided for your comfort.

The riverside cabin has a beautiful patio right outside on the sandy river bed. The backyard patio is perfect for any time of year to sit with a glass of wine or Tusker beer and a good book that is if you are not distracted by the scenery and hundreds of birds that made Simba Camp their permanent sanctuary.

Zebra Cabin

Adorn with African décor Zebra cabin has two twin beds, mosquito nets, en suite bathroom with free toiletries, and charms of an exclusive Safari retreat. The zebra cabin also comes with a private canvas umbrella, ideal for relaxation.

Relax at Oloip House (Common guest lounge and library)

From your tent, you are just a short stroll away from Oloip house, a spacious and cozy common guest room and library with a high ceiling and traditional thatch roof that keeps the area cool from the African sun. The great common guest room with open walls brings the forest and wildlife into view. Everyone in your group will appreciate spending time together while playing board games in the spacious great room. Let the savannah serenity quiet your mind and allow yourself to escape into this peaceful retreat.

The warm and cozy guest lounge with a thatch roof will be the perfect place to kick back and make the most of your African bush vacation. Free WiFi is available at Oloip house.

Get cozy by the rock fireplace or gather around the outside firepit and reliving the day’s adventures exploring Amboseli eco-system. Play games, read a book, interact with your guides, or just relax and watch velvet monkeys and hundred species of birds as they hop from one tree to the next.

Simba Restaurant

We serve hearty, healthy, and downright delicious foods prepared by our own chef! Simba restaurant is a family style dining room that offers African, Asian, European, and American cuisine to suit all tastes. Our meals are fresh and organic. Vegetarians are accomodated respectifully. We also accommodate clients with allergies to specific food items such as gluten.

Adventure family Fun Center

Are you bringing your kids along? No problem we have a wonderful adventure family fun corner with tire swings, wood swings, chair swings, dirts, archery, and more. Parents relax in a hammock and let your kids swing and leap in a very safe play ground.

End the day with a soothing swim in our private outdoor pool build with nature in mind.

Birders Haven

The camp is a symphony of African birds. The songs of weavers, go-away-birds, starlings, African hoopoe, the franklins, lilac-breasted roller, woodland king fisher, red and yellow barbet, and woodpeckers filled the air, all under the canopy of indigenous acacia trees. There’s no better place to see African birds than right here at Maasai Simba Camp.

Security

Security is our top priority. There will be Maasai warriors on site 24 hours a day. All the animals of the African savanna know and respect the warriors. Warriors will accompany you during all nature walks and on Safari. This would be the safest place you can be in Africa.
