2 ARRIVE TO NAIROBI, KENYA
Much
of the day is spent in flight to Kenya, with an evening arrival
in Nairobi. You will be met by drivers and warriors at the airport
and transferred to Pan Afric Hotel, downtown Nairobi. Catch
up with much-needed rest.
DAY.
3 FULL DAY IN NAIROBI
This
morning you’ll have time to relax and exchange money before
departing for the David Sheldrick Animal Orphanage to encounter
orphaned elephants in the outskirts of Nairobi National Park.
You will also visit Giraffe center home to the rare and endangered
Rothschild’s Giraffe. Hand-feed the giraffes and learn
more about conservation efforts undertaken to save this specie
of giraffe – meals B & B

3 - 5 MAASAI VILLAGE

We
depart Nairobi by 4x4 Landcruiser or private van for the Maasai
community of Merrueshi. Upon arrival, you’ll meet our
Maasai hosts and settle into the community bandas. The bandas
are small but spacious rooms made of volcanic rocks.
Our
days in the village will be full. Mornings will typically begin
with the local Maasai warriors escorting you into the bush to
track wildlife. The Maasai know this land in a way no one else
does and they interpret everything from footprints, animal droppings,
animal noises, herbal medicine, and more. Returning from the
hike, we’ll enjoy breakfast together.
Our
time in the village will be very flexible and relaxing, yet
full of learning. Some days you may be invited to attend a traditional
market; other times there may be a ceremony to attend. We will
also save time for sharing within the group and with the community
during this very rich cultural exchange – meals B, L &
D
DAY.
6-7 AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Shortly
after an early breakfast we will drive 1 hour to Amboseli National
Park, which covers 150 square miles in southern Kenya, not far
from the Tanzanian border. Amboseli is at the bottom of Mt.
Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa standing 19,340
feet. In addition to over 1000 elephants there are zebra, wildebeests,
giraffes, impala, leopards, lions, hippos, antelope, warthogs,
hyenas, cheetah, buffalos, and more than 400 species of birds
all gather in the haven of the park. We will return to the village
to stay overnight – meals B, L & D

8-9 TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
Today
we will drive to Tsavo West National Reserve for our second
